Nintendo today re-confirmed that it plans to show attendees of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) upcoming Wii U games from the Mario Kart, Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda and Super Smash Bros. franchises. This year's E3 show floor opens on June 11th and ends on the 13th. Nintendo previously announced that it will not be hosting a major press conference at the expo, but the publisher will definitely be in attendance.

Datel Japan have released pictures of a sleek aluminium Famicom-style faceplate for the Wii U GamePad. This design is intended for use with a Deluxe Wii U set, as the buttons on a Famicom controller are black. With the faceplate on, the GamePad will not work in the standard Wii U charger cradle. Luckily, Datel Japan offers an alternate cradle that allows the GamePad with faceplate to fit.

Nintendo Force magazine writer Emily Rogers says that the Virtual Console of both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS will eventually have some compatibility. Supposedly, in the future, consumers who own a Wii U and Nintendo 3DS will be able to play their purchased Virtual Console titles on either of the two platforms. However, according to Rogers, there are noticeable restrictions, which are listed below.

The Wii U Virtual Console officially launched yesterday and, so far, includes only NES and Super NES games. Nintendo promises that, in the future, Game Boy Advance and Nintendo 64 titles will be added to the service. When they are released on Wii U, Nintendo 64 and Game Boy Advance games will feature off-TV play, which means you'll be able to play them on your GamePad controller - without the need for a TV screen.

The official Okami Twitter account is teasing that it has new information to share regarding the beloved Okami franchise. The Twitter team says that they will announce something during the beginning of Golden Week which runs from April 29th to May 5th. Interestingly enough, the latest edition of Famitsu promises to share a game that "bring fans tears of happiness" in its next issue which is due out, May 9th.
