Nintendo Australia Won’t Be Getting The Zelda Wii U Bundle

Both the bundle and the figurine were announced yesterday by Nintendo for North America and Europe with a price tag of $299.99 ‚Äď giving a $50 price cut to the home console. Unfortunately, Australia will be missing out on both of them, as reported by Vooks. Luckily, those who need to give Ganondorf a good home, or the Wind Waker Wii U bundle a nice place to sit, can import from Europe. Nintendo Australia said the following:

‚Äú[We] do not have plans to release these in Australia and New Zealand at this stage.‚ÄĚ

Nintendo outlined a campaign that will offer consumers unprecedented levels of value and variety this holiday season. That proposition includes:

  • A $50 price drop for the¬†Wii U¬†Deluxe Set to a new suggested retail price of just $299.99, effective on Sept. 20.
  • A limited-edition Wii U bundle featuring¬†The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD¬†launching on Sept. 20.
  • The introduction of¬†Nintendo 2DS, an entry-level dedicated portable gaming system that plays all¬†Nintendo 3DS¬†and Nintendo DS games in 2D. Nintendo 2DS launches Oct. 12, the same day as¬†Pok√©mon X and¬†Pok√©mon Y, at a suggested retail price of $129.99.
  • Dates for an outstanding lineup of Q4 video games for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.

The announcements demonstrate Nintendo’s aggressive approach to providing new games and experiences available only on Nintendo platforms for all types of people this holiday season. Nintendo announced these items at the GameStop Managers Show in Las Vegas.

Nintendo stated in the press release earlier that accompanied the news of the Nintendo 2DS that GameStop is also offering an exclusive Ganondorf figurine bundled with the packaged game at a suggested retail price of $54.99. The digital version of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD will also launch on Sept. 20, while the packaged version launches Oct. 4 with distinctive gold-foil packaging, both at a suggested retail price of $49.99. The figure shown above is the Ganondorf figure for Europe.

Check Out New Gameplay For The Legend Of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

Shown in today’s Nintendo Direct was some brand new gameplay for The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. In the video above, Satoru Iwata explains that this title is set many years after the events from A Link to the Past, saying that the Link in the video before us is a different Link from the previous title. He also explains that you see one Triforce in gold and the other in black within the title art, meaning that the shadowy Triforce exists within an entirely different world. We also get to see a bit more gameplay concerning the drawing of Link and how you can solve puzzles by turning into the 2D character. The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is available this November for Nintendo 3DS.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD which is a reinvented HD version of the Nintendo GameCube classic features several adjustments that enhance the overall play experience, such as faster sailing. The game launches in Europe on 4th October. Nintendo of America has yet to reveal a date for the game, other than saying it’s due out in October.
