Nintendo fans know that 2014 was a great year for game releases—and it looks like the critics agree. Metacritic has released the results of their 5th Annual Game Publisher Rankings, which ranks publishers based on the critical reviews of their 2014 releases.

Gunman Clive 2 (3DS eShop) Review

Gunman Clive hit the 3DS eShop in early 2013, and somehow I was nearly completely oblivious to it’s existence for months. Picking it up on a whim while it was on sale, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the game’s stripped down bare essentials platforming.

Nintendo Download Updates (29/1) – Prime Time

The last update for January! 2015 is already speeding by us, but it slows down once a week at least, for the eShop updates. Yay for us! Not much on the Wii U this week, other than the Metroid Prime Trilogy for Wii making it’s way as our third Wii game on the eShop.

Shantae And The Pirate’s Curse and two Kirby eShop titles dated for Australia

If the pile of release dates for the eShop we got last week wasn’t enough both Nintendo and Wayforward have announced a few more. Wayforward have announced that Shantae And The Pirate’s Curse will be released here in Australia and New Zealand on February 5th.

Majora’s Mask 3D out February 14th along with Special Edition New 3DS XL

Not terribly long after being unmasked in November, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D has been given a release date of February 14th in today’s Nintendo Direct presentation.

Late last year Shigeru Miyamoto and Bill Trinen went on tour of a number of different and popular YouTube channels, a terrific move that would have hit the eyes of many subscribers. We also learned a ton of new things from these tours.

It may not have had a cash-intensive PR blitzkrieg, but The Witcher 2 – with its story quietly moulding itself around your actions and The Witcher himself refusing to conform to genre stereotype – generated endless word of mouth. This outing will be larger, prettier and even more open-ended.
